Notes

*Title: This catalogue accepts the title Fisherman's Cove, Maine, given by the publisher, Associated American Artists. However, in a list of prints hand-written by the artist and dated June 14, 1958, Fiene specifies one print to which he gives the title "Fishermen, Monhegan" and another to which he gives the title, "Baiting the Line, Monhegan Island." One or both of these titles may be alternative titles for this print. The two titles do, however, leave open the possibility of the existence of at least one and possibly two other Monhegan Island prints. Their existence remains unconfirmed.

**Date: This is the date the print was offered for sale by AAA, not necessarily the date it was composed.

Related Works: At least one hand-colored impression of this print and a painting of the same subject exist. (See below.)

Color:: Fiene has a history of hand coloring lithographs (but not an extensive one--see White Rose in a Vase and White Roses); however, there is no clear indication that he himself hand colored one impression of Fisherman's Cove, Maine illustrated below, which may be a unique impression.
